Marty Grimes may be up in the clouds, but he’s coming back down to earth to release a new anthem for fans to get lifted to. The West Coast artist just released “Faded” featuring fellow westside rapper Caleborate. The new single is following the September release of his album, Nobody Said It Was Easy, and it’s the first collaboration the artist has dropped since his appraised single with G-Eazy, “The Famm.”
“Faded,” the single produced by KDE, sticks true to its name. Its smooth and relaxed beat creates an interesting contrast behind Grimes’ lyrics. The song softly chants, “Chilling on a cloud right now, faded, I ain’t coming down” over the chorus, while its verses illustrate a picture of psychedelic trips and riding around his hometown. Despite its chill nature, the song is a perfect complement to his 2013 mixtape, Through The Smoke.
Grimes recently wrapped up his nationwide tour “The Ground Up,” and on the verge of his project release, the Cali rapper has no intent on slowing down. Take a listen to Marty Grimes’ stoner anthem, “Faded,” as he talks money, weed and women.
